Under lead defense lawyer Vincent J. Fuller’s direct examination, Tyson claimed that everything had taken place with Washington’s full consent and he claimed not to have forced himself upon her. When he was cross-examined by lead prosecutor Gregory Garrison, Tyson denied claims that he had misled Washington and insisted that she wanted to have sex with him. “In a misguided attempt to show that Washington must have known that Tyson wanted sex, the defense called witness after witness to testify about their client’s lewd remarks and crude behavior during his encounters with the Miss Black America contestants, and even with Washington herself.” Former attorney Mark Shaw argued that Tyson’s “case was mishandled, citing a jury-selection process that allowed a conservative ex-Marine to become foreman, a defense “strategy” of making Tyson look as bad as possible, and a disastrous decision to allow the defendant to testify at the grand jury hearing, the trial, and his sentencing.”

On May 24, 2011, Judge Catherine D. Perry denied Whitmill’s request to enjoin the film’s release, citing a potential $100 million in damages to Warner Bros. and disruption to related businesses. However, she found that Whitmill had “a strong likelihood of success” on his copyright claim and characterized most of Warner Bros.’ arguments as “just silly”, saying:

In the R-rated film’s trailer, Helms’ character acquires the tattoo after a wild night of bachelor revelry with costars Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha and Zach Galifianakis. Helms’ character, who famously loses teeth in the first film, has to deal with the stamp on his face before his wedding day.

Round 3: Williams opens up fast with a two-handed flurry. Straight right lands from Sheeraz scores. Another right buckles Williams momentarily. Sheeraaz gets behind the jab and carries the omnipresent threat of his backhand. BIG LEFT scores for Sheeraz out of the southpaw stance. Williams had felt the power and is backing off in a hurry. Huge right from Sheeraz scores.

I understand that no objection was made to the appearance of the tattoo in the first Hangover movie. Perhaps that is because only Mike Tyson appeared in the first Hangover movie, whereas in Hangover II, in addition to Mike Tyson appearing again, actor Ed Helms’ character gets a similar, or perhaps identical tattoo on his face.

Zhang’s fight with Jerry Forrest was on the undercard of the super-middleweight title fight between Canelo Álvarez and Avni Yıldırım. Although Zhang started strongly, scoring three knockdowns in the opening three rounds, Zhang completely gassed out from the fourth round and Forrest was able to battle his way back to earn a majority draw. The final scorecards read 95–93 Forrest, 93–93, and 93–93, with the irregular scores owing to a point deduction against Zhang for excessive holding. Many fans thought Zhang vs. Forrest was a better fight than the main bout.

Zhang first met Kurt Li (李茂沛), his English translator (2012–) and his co-manager (2021–) when Li was a staff member handling application forms at the Department of Sports in the 2000s. Zhang asked Li for an application form and Li, a Sichuan Mandarin speaker, did not understand him.

The official weights are in for tomorrow night’s “Knockout Chaos” card in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. And to be sure, all four men, in the main event and in the co-main event, have put the work in, this evident by the muscles on display moments ago.

“Halfway through that fight, I could see things changing. I could see Mike’s confidence was leaving,” Hazzard said. “I could see that Evander Holyfield’s confidence was constantly building. They were clashing a lot.”

Both are consenting adults and if they want to fight and the TDLR approves Tyson with a clean bill of health, then no one can really stand in their way. These are the kinds of spectacles that get put on these days in combat sports and this is the most polarizing one yet. The best-case scenario is the fight gets classified as an exhibition and the two have a friendly, yet physical sparring match, kind of like Tyson vs. Jones Jr. As Coppinger noted, those two weren’t throwing with bad intentions back in November 2020, but the crowd still went home satisfied with the event. Frankly, this is all about entertainment anyway, not real sports competition. And that’s OK if taken at face value. — Raimondi

Zhilei Zhang (Chinese: 张志磊; pinyin: Zhāng Zhìlěi; born May 2, 1983) is a Chinese professional boxer. He held the World Boxing Organization (WBO) interim heavyweight title between 2023 and March 2024. As of June 2024, Zhang is ranked as the world’s fifth-best active heavyweight by The Ring magazine.

Despite bankruptcies, prison sentences, and headline-making behavior, Tyson hinted at a comeback in May 2020, at the age of 53, when he shared a video of himself training — and looking shredded — in preparation to make a return to professional boxing.

Zhang was scheduled to fight Filip Hrgović in an IBF title eliminator on 7 May 2022. However, Hrgović pulled out of the fight on 2 May, after his father died and his training suffered. Scott Alexander was chosen as the replacement on the Canelo Álvarez vs. Dmitry Bivol undercard, with the fight being dropped from the co-main to the undercard. Zhang won the bout via first-round knockout. His fight against Hrgović was rescheduled for 20 August 2022, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on the undercard of Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua II. On that night, Zhang knocked Hrgović down in the first round with a big right. After a close-fought battle over twelve rounds, the judges awarded the fight to Hrgović with two scores of 115–112 and one of 114–113, in what division is 140 in boxing was described as a “generous” decision by broadcaster Sky Sports after a “bizarre” performance by Hrgović.
